Pidgin supports spell checking, but only offers the option to enable it during install. Follow this handy guide to help you get spell checking enabled.

Steps to enable spell check

  1. First, Download the pidgin installer from pidgin.im

  1. Next, execute the installer. Click Next when it pops up.

  1. Click on Next on the license agreement page.

  1. On the Choose Components page, scroll down until you see “Spellchecking Support” and click on the plus next to it.

  1. Once expanded, scroll down to find the language you wish to enable spell check support for and check the box next to it.

  1. Once you do that, Click on Next, and keep doing so until you can click on Finish, and you should now have spell checking enabled in Pidgin!
